The gnarled and twisted trunk of an apple tree and branch has been preserved using the Shou Sugi Ban method and then paired with glass. Sections of wood were removed and replicas in cast glass have been reinserted. The piece celebrates diversity and resilience, symbolizing the challenges and struggles of self-discovery and the search for identity. The installation invites viewers to reflect on their own life journeys and the importance of embracing change and finding beauty in unexpected places.
