Rose Magee - Mixed Media Artist

My work explores and draws attention to the acts of othering minority groups that are subjugated within contemporary and historical society. With a focus on highlighting active antisemitic thought patterns. I attempt to draw parallels between the oppressive treatment of the natural world with the hierarchical attitudes to European Jewry.  With an educational background in object restoration and conservation, I combine organic with inorganic materials to form sculptures and installations. Through recent work I have tried to be more conscious of climate change, to critically analyse my artistic practice through better consumption of natural resources. My current goal is to create space for healthy discussions and an exchange of ideas around difficult topics such as climate change and antisemitism. To show how important it is, now more than ever, to live in harmony with our environment, less exploitation and more integration.
