Artist statement

My eyes are drawn to contrasts, dramatic lighting and the atmosphere created by colours. In the past year I have tried to be more conscious of climate change as a subject matter and practising better consumption by using repurposed materials. My work is mainly concentrated in painting and sculpture with influences of the art movements from the first half of the 20th century. The aim is not to produce a direct translation of reality but rather an impression of it, pure and ready for interpretation. I am passionate about creating space for dialogue around difficult topics such as mental health issues, climate change and antisemitism. Creating art that allows for healthy discussions, awareness without preaching and learning through exchange of ideas is my current goal.
